The I.B.P.S. temple in Mississauga is one of Canada's
newest and largest Buddhist temples, and Vertex was
proud to have been selected to design and install the
building's sound system. The four story building features
a 33 foot ceiling in the main a |

distributed
ceiling worship space, and the architectural design
mandatedspeaker
design, which presented a formidable challenge maintain
acceptable levels of volume and intelligibility. These
challenges were made even more difficult due to the
use of lavaliere mics in the space during most services.
EAW's CP-621 speaker systems were used for this part
of the building, and this unit's unique design gave
us the SPL and dispersion characteristics the system
demanded. A total of 6 of these speaker systems are
installed in the main worship space, and to date have
handled all of the tasks they have been assigned with
ease. The main system also features Samson wireless
lavaliere mics, Crest amplification, and Ashly equalization,
and Denon playback gear. |

The other areas of the building are installed with more
traditional distributed speaker products, including a
complete installation in the basement, the main floor
corridors, as well as assorted rooms and corridors on
the second floor.
The overall system has performed flawlessly since the

was completed, and the reaction from the clients has been
uniformly positive. We particularly enjoyed this project
because it required a unique solution to the building's
acoustical challenges, and we were able to come up |
 |
| with a
design that address all of these, and at a very reasonable
cost to the client. To us, this sort of elegance in design
is always our goal and we are very happy that this installation
has turned out to be such a success. |
